The Centrex 1000 is available in either electric or non-electric versions. Both are designed for use with a 1 pint toilet (purchased separately), but the Centrex 1000 series is not available for use with dry toilets. As with other Central units the Centrex 1000 units features a waste inlet door on the left of the drum (facing the unit) and a separate output door on the right. Compost is extracted by releasing the drum lock, rotating the drum backwards, and dropping compost into the finishing drawer at the bottom right of the unit. The unit is supplied with a 25mm drain hose which should be connected to the 25mm drain at the bottom left of the unit. |

versions of this model: |
If you have continuous 220volt
electricity, choose an electric composting unit. These units come with a 50mm
vent stack and plug into a three pin electric outlet to power the fan and
thermostatically controlled base heater. Electric units should be unplugged if
they are not used for 10 days or more.
If you do not have continuous 220volt
electricity, select a non-electric unit. These units have a 100mm vent
stack which exits from the top of the composting unit, and acts like a chimney
on a wood stove.
If you expect to have 220volt electricity in the future, or are running a generator for 8 - 12 hours per day, you can choose a dual vented AC/DC model.

The CENTREX 1000 is a low profile, front serviceable, electric composting unit. It is designed for use with a 1 pint toilet (purchased separately). At only 700mm high, this unit is ideal for installation under, or to the side of buildings where height is important and the unit is to be vented up a side wall. If the CENTREX 1000 is exposed, electrical components should be protected from rain and flooding. The CENTREX 1000 evaporating performance of up to 2 gallons per day may not be sufficient to evaporate all the liquid, so the drain hose should be connected. Composting Capacity:
