Centrex 3000

The Centrex 3000 family is a revolutionary high capacity unit which embodies Sun-Mar's unique Autoflow technology. As the drum rotates, compost moves automatically through the drum and finally into a separate collection chamber at the end of the unit. This means that, unlike other Sun-Mar units, there is no need to rotate the drum backwards to extract compost.

The CENTREX 3000 is the standard residential unit for those with a continuous 220 V electrical supply, and one or more ultra low flush toilets.

As with all other electrical units, it is fitted with a specially produced turbo fan which runs constantly while the unit is in use. This fan ensures good air movement for evaporation, and automatically draws air into the unit to ensure odourless operation. Two 250 Watt thermostatically controlled heating elements are in a sealed compartment under the evaporating chamber. One or both can be turned off if desired.

The collection chamber at the end of the CENTREX 3000 is detachable from the main body of the unit.

Evaporation capacity varies with the activity in the compost, the climate and the number of heating elements being used. The 25mm drain hose connected should be connected to the 25mm drain at the bottom left of the unit.

A/F (Air Flow) versions of the CENTREX 3000 are designed for use with a SUN-MAR Dry Toilet which has to be mounted directly above the unit. A/F versions are used where there is no water, or where it is particularly important to minimize liquid output.

This model is a non-electric unit for use with a 1pint flush toilet where there is no continuous 220 Volt power supply. An optional 2.4 Watt 12 Volt fan may be inserted in the 100mm vent stack to boost evaporation and air movement if necessary.

The vent stack should be as close to vertical as possible. The fan may be powered by a solar panel (18 Watts or more) and/or a 12 Volt battery.

This model is a combination of both an electric and a non-electric unit. It has all the features of the electric CENTREX 3000 as well as a 100mm vent stack where the additional 12 Volt 2.4 Watt fan should be mounted. It is suitable where there is a non-continuous source of power, or where a steady 220V power supply is expected in the future. This unit is for use with a low flush toilet.

The CENTREX 3000 A/F is a 220 Volt waterless unit for use with a SUN-MAR Dry Toilet mounted directly above it. The fan and twin heaters are the same as those in the CENTREX 3000. The fan maintains odourless operation in the bathroom by drawing air down through the toilet and up the vent stack.

Because no flushing liquid is used, the CENTREX 3000 A/F has the capacity to evaporate all liquid under normal operation. The 25mm drain hose is still supplied and should be connected, but will only operate if heavy use or longer power outages occur or if one or both of the heaters are turned off.

This is a waterless unit for those with no continuous 220Volt electricity who are able to place a SUN-MAR Dry Toilet right over the composting unit.
It is supplied with a complete 100mm vent stack, including a 12 Volt 2.4 Watt fan. The fan supplied in an 275mm long section of vent pipe, can be powered by a solar panel and/or 12 Volt battery. It will normally be needed to pull air down through the Dry Toilet, and boost evaporation and air movement. The 25mm drain hose should be connected.

Like the CENTREX 3000 AC/DC, this model uses the 50mm vent stack of the electric unit and the 100mm vent with additional 2.4W 12 Volt fan. Again, it suits those with non-continuous power, or those expecting a steady supply of 220 volt electricity in the future. As an A/F unit, this model is for use with a SUN-MAR Dry Toilet.
